Europe-born, Tom escaped Hungary (and soccer) in 1956 and, following three nomadic and fantastic years in Italy, alit in 1959 in the States and Pittsburgh. Yes, he sat in Forbes Field waving Bob Prince’s Green Weenie fan. Having followed Horace Greeley’s advice, Tom is a 1971 graduate of UCLA, meaning he was there both for Kareem’s Sky Hook and Walton’s let’s-burn-down-the-place cries.
