Barajas, El Toro both back in lineup
Rod Barajas and Pedro Alvarez, both injury scratches from Monday night’s lineup, are back in there for the second game of the Astros series.
Barajas has played only once since suffering a left-knee bruise on a play at the plate during last week’s series in Philadelphia. His return is well-timed: He’ll be catching A.J. Burnett, his familiar sidekick.
Alvarez had to come out of Sunday’s game in St. Louis with cramps in his left leg. The Bucs didn’t miss his wakening bat Monday night, when they launched a seven-game homestand with an 18-hit attack in the 11-2 victory over Houston.
One cautionary note, as this is written three hours before game time: Barajas had also been in the origina lineup on Monday night, when he was a late scratch when the bone bruise in his knee was too sore to play.
